Computer classes (grades 2-9) emphasize the use of the computer as a tool for learning. Students learn the components of the computer and proper handling of the mouse and keyboard. They learn how to choose applications from the hard drive and how to save completed work to the desktop and to a flash drive. They are taught word processing skills, drawing and painting, spreadsheets, and database work. Younger students get an introduction to editing graphics and creating animations. Students begin learning to use presentation software such as PowerPoint in second grade . Proper use of the Internet is also covered.
