Fifth Grade Unique Experiences In the spring, the fifth grade launches its annual enrichment program, which includes student exchange as well NC adventures. The exchange trips are voluntary and are available to any and all takers in the fifth grade. Summit exchange students currently welcome students from Portland, Oregon and Hamilton, Ontario in the fall. The same students then travel to the homes of those visitors currently in May. The exchange provides unique cultural and geographic enrichment opportunities. Simultaneously, the children who are not participating in the exchange program are taken on day trips in North Carolina to places of historical interest and educational significance. These trips include Seagrove Pottery Studio, Stone Mountain, a train ride to Spencer Transportation Museum, and a living history farm.
