SUMMIT SCHOOL TV6 PRODUCTION CENTER

Henry Heidtmann - Classroom Technology Specialist

Welcome to my office, which houses Summit School's in-house broadcast system and video production studio. Students write, shoot and produce news broadcasts as well as special curriculum based projects, blending television, public speaking and computer skills. I teach this, 7th/8th grade computer skills, and 5th/6th grade computer block. I coach the girls varsity basketball team and the baseball team. (Click for the SUMMIT TV6 STUDIO WEB SITE)
When I am not at Summit School, I might be involved in one of my many pastimes- Being Daddy to my two sons, Henry  (14) and William (11), and my daughter Christina (8).. Working on our home in Lewisville with Julie, my wife of 18 years; Amateur Radio- my call sign is W2DZO (ex. N4VHK- Henry IV now holds this call- I also hold an Antigua radio license V26H) either operating from my home station alone, competing in a world-wide radio contest with members of the W4WS contesting team or playing bass with The Rough Band (Blues rock) ( click for pics;)

(L) Henry G.Heidtmann, Sr. W2DZO (SK) on one of his 80 meter flattop towers on Willis Avenue in Floral Park, NY circa 1932. (R) Henry G. Heidtmann, III  W2DZO (ex. N4VHK) on his Rohn 25 in Winston-Salem, NC. After Grandpa became a silent key (Amateur radio lingo for a deceased operator) in April of 2002, I decided to carry on his love of radio by acquiring his 1931 issued call sign, and am very proud to do so.  It's nice to hold on to my Floral Park, New York roots with the 2 call as well.
