| 5th Grade | 9th Grade Pottery Class Welcome to 9th grade pottery. Students use a conscious approach to making pottery by choosing a preferred learned method or technique to develop a challenging, useful and functional project that can be taken home or given to the school. These projects add to the decor of the school and are used as instructional tools. The Pottery Award is given to a 9th grade student who responsibly and successfully completes a challenging, functional, well-crafted, and original project. The Pottery Award Recipient must demonstrate, while creating a project, that he/she can discover new ideas, search for answers, find form and order, rethink and restructure, stay on task, be self motivated, and work cooperatively. Assessment: Teacher observation, class evaluation, project analysis, and consistency
