Maryann Warnken lives in Glen Falls, NY, where she enjoys gardening, painting and writing poetry.

Elizabeth Cobb Greer writes from Ashland, OR, and asks if anyone still plays "capture the flag." She and Julia Stokes Elsee were the only members of their grade in Summit's first year and have been in close contact ever since.1946
Lucy "Sookie" Fain Peebles lives in Winston-Salem and says that she is very happy in her new home at Arbor Acres.1951
Paxson Glenn has been in Dallas, TX, for 41 years where he works in the commercial real estate business. Paxson has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.1959
Camilla Dize Matthews lives in Chatham, New Jersey. Her daughter, Kathryn Sherrill ('84) lives in Greensboro and is president of Al Business Solutions. Her son, James Sherrill ('90) lives in Melbourne, Australia, and works for Booz, Allen, Hamilton Consulting. He has a 3-year-old son, Sam.1963
Richard Gizinski, lives in Winston-Salem and has retired after 30-plus years of teaching. He and his wife, Clara, have 2 grown sons and 1 granddaughter.1964
Vernon Glenn has been practicing law for over 31 years in NC and SC. He has a private practice focused on civil trial law and was recently appointed as "Of Counsel" to Winston-Salem firm Allman, Spry, Leggett and Crumpler. He has three children: C.C., sophomore at UNC-CH; Doug, a high school senior and Rosena, a high school freshman. He lives in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant but spends alot of time with work in Winston and in Chapel Hill.

James Edward Gibson III (Ed) received his PhD in Public Administration and Public Affairs from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in July. Dr. Gibson is currently Assistant Professor of Public Finance in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Baltimore. He and his wife, Mary Jo, reside in Berryville, VA. They have a daughter, Lindsay, who is a junior at the College of William and Mary.
Bill Rhodes has been involved in the broadcast television industry for 30 years and has held managerial, administrative and technical positions with several professional post production and network companies. He returned to Modern Videofilm, a leader in the feature film and major network post production industry, in January, 2007 and he is currently tasked to NBC/Universal first run weekly shows such as "Heroes," "The Big Bang Theory," "30 Rock," "2 and a Half Men" and a host of other episodic and sitcom productions. He credits his interest in the media to Doug Lewis who taught him camera and darkroom techniques and Mr. Carr; Peggy Pruitt and Loma Hopkins for the appreciation of theater. Bill is an avid sports fan who golfs to a 14 handicap and enjoys NFL Football.1972
Julie Montgomery Watson lives in Wilson, NC, with her husband John. Their daughter, Katie, is a junior at NC State. Julie also has 2 grown stepchildren, one granddaughter and another on the way. She is enjoying retirement.1973
Jean Anne Frazier lives in Sarasota, FL. She has a 14-year-old daughter and works for Landmark Development Group in a planned community called Lakewood Ranch.

William and Cinny Strickland Graham live in Winston-Salem. William attended the December 2006 Reunion with his sister Ashton ('78) who lives in El Paso, TX. Cinny was performing in Greensboro's Triad Stage world premiere of "Beautiful Star."1975
Karan Martinat recently started a catering and party planning service and continues to operate her antique business. She lives in Wilmington, NC, and has two boys, age 4 and 6.
Lou Shore Winship has 3 boys, the oldest is going to college this fall. She and her family live in Atlanta.1978
Garth Dunklin coaches his son's challenge soccer team in Charlotte, NC. He reports that "(he is) not quite John Seymour, but enjoying it."
C. Douglas Maynard, Jr. of Maynard & Harris Attorneys At Law, PLLC, has been elected Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He has been reappointed to the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committees of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (NCATL) for the tenth consecutive year. Doug has also been reappointed to the Education Committee of the NCATL. He was a featured speaker covering UM/UIM Coverage, at the Insurance Law - 2006 Update on Homeowners Coverage, Liability Coverage, UM/UIM, Property Damage, Bad Faith, Mediation..and more!, seminar sponsored by NCATL. Doug served as primary author of the Amicus Brief for the NCATL, in Williams v. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company to the North Carolina Supreme Court, 2006. Doug lives in Winston-Salem with his wife Jane and their five children.
Phyllis Alexander-Slye writes, " I stay fairly busy with our daughter, Dayton, 15, and our son, Jack, 13. They are, of course, very active and involved in many things, and we just returned from three weeks traveling around Europe. I have recently formed a production company, Kalpana International Pictures, Inc., with two friends who live in Los Angeles. Our first movie, "Sadhvi's Lullaby," is due to be filmed in Nepal in 2008. Plans are in the works for other films to be made in Mexico and Africa. Our goal involves not only telling stories about people in areas that are often overlooked, but we will also hire and train young people in the art of film-making in hopes of encouraging them to tell their own stories through film. A portion of Kalpana's proceeds will be put towards seeing our trainees' dreams come to fruition."
Beth Weller writes, "2007 has been a busy year for us. In January, I completed the Walt Disney World Marathon as a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. I am currently training with TNT for the Goofy Challenge in Jan. 2008 - a half marathon on Saturday & full marathon Sunday. In October, I spoke at the annual bankruptcy seminar presented by the National Association of Attorney Generals and States Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys in Chicago, IL. I was presented the NAAG/SABA Spirit Award "presented annually to the governmental attorney who best personifies the spirit of multi-state cooperation in the field of bankruptcy litigation." In November, I was named a Capitol Partner in the firm of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, which specializes in governmental collections. In addition to being a frequent speaker on bankruptcy issues as they relate to governmental entities, I keep busy in the activities of my 3 children (Sarah, age 14; Erin, age 10; and Kyle, age 7). I have served for 4 years on the Dallas Independent School District's Boundaries Advisory Committee, Chair the Site Based Decision Making Committee at our junior high, am an officer in our elementary school PTA, serve as local student support coordinator for the AFS international exchange program, and am active in several international adoption support groups."1979

Sean Toole moved to New York to pursue emerging market banking in mining, energy and infrastructure sectors and has looked at transactions in Russia. He attended Rafael Tellaeche's wedding in Mexico.
Kathy Cox Thiel is married and has 5-year-old twins, Ava and David. She is the Director of Medical Social Work for Hospice and visiting nurses in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Gwyn Armfield recently returned from his fifth tour in Iraq and in June will move with his family from Fayetteville, NC, to Boston. The Air Force is sending him to Harvard to attend a National Defense fellowship at the JFK School of Government.
Sandra Jackson earned a Master's Degree in College Student Development from Appalachian in 1994. In 1995, she moved to Wilmington to put her skills to use at UNCW. In 2001, she opened Hollywood East Cinema Grill, a combination movie theater and 364-seat restaurant in Wilmington, NC. She sold the business in January of 2007. She says, "Now, I'm excited about taking a little time off to travel and garden. Please let Capers Carlton know that his encouragement and confidence in my abilities stayed with me long after I crossed the last finish line at Summit. I'm not a sprinter anymore, but I'd still run a mile race just for him."1984

Matthew Spear is the men's soccer coach at Davidson College. He was married on February 3, 2007 in Charlotte; he and his wife, Courtney, live in Davidson.
Baldwin Smith works with Campus Crusade for Christ at Ole Miss. He and his wife have 3 children - Virginia, 6, Graham, 4 and Riley, 6 months.
Gar Ragland and his wife, Margit, announce the birth of Kathryn Kessler who was born March 28, 2006. Gar is the owner of Riparius Records in Boston, MA. The company provides a variety of professional artist services from audio engineering and production work to full-scale web site design and development. Gar, who is also a performer, is the Director of the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival.
Elisabeth Frost Dresel is married and lives in Raleigh. She is expecting a baby boy in May.

Brad Gray works in the Marketing Dept. at Circuit City in Richmond, VA. He finds the challenge of anticipating consumer trends exciting. He and his wife Kristin have a 2 year old son.

Duncan Memory lives in Winston-Salem and is in his eighth year of teaching English at West Forsyth High School. Duncan and his wife Amy have two children, Ella (4 years old) and Duncan Jr. (born in January 2007).

Sunny Green Cordray and husband, Joel, live in Lewisville, NC. They had their first child, John William, in March.
Beth Vann Bowman's son, Andrew, is a JrK student at Summit and loves it!
Rachel Cannon-Percival was in Canada over the winter holiday visiting her husband's family. The couple live in Greensboro.
Parker Grubbs and wife, Katie, had a daughter in August, Lauren Caroline. She joins Fletcher, age 3.
Gretchen King Leverette lives in downtown Raleigh, NC were she has taught kindergarten for 8 years for Wake County Schools. She teaches at Wiley International Magnet School. Her son, Peyton, is 9 years old and is in 4th grade. His favorite subjects are math, science, music(drums), and art.
David and Angie Mims raised the funds to cover the cost of the materials needed to build a special access ramp, the first fully accessible beach access boardwalk, in the national seashore at the Frisco Bathhouse in Frisco, North Carolina. The Mims family, of East Bend, North Carolina, participated in the ribbon cutting in June. Three years ago, they suggested to the National Park Service (NPS) that a fully accessible ramp to the beach be created for their daughter. Delia has spina bifida, the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the United States, which makes mobility very difficult and the use of a wheelchair necessary.

Kelton G. Cofer reports that he has been with the Public Defender's Office for 4 years working as a Criminal Defense Investigator (kind of the poor man's Paul Drake). He butts heads with Assistant DA and fellow '89 alum, John Kenneth Moser, on occassion. He just bought his second home in August of '06. He had the pleasure of being a groomsman in his good friend and fellow alum, Hank Willis' ('90), wedding this past Fall.

Alexa Memory lives in Asheville NC where she is the Director of Human Resources for the Renaissance Hotel. She enjoys seeing Elizabeth Irvin Cassidy (’90) and David Martin (’90) who also live in the Asheville area.1991

Elizabeth Wallace Casimiro married Jorge G. Casimiro on April 8, 2006, in Atlanta, GA. Several fellow classmates were there, including Susan Alexander, Susan Branch, Catherine Hunter, Len Neely and Katherine Harding O'Donnell. The couple currently lives in Mexico City, Mexico, where Elizabeth is working as a consultant and Jorge is the Director of Communications for The Coca-Cola Company's Latin American operations.1993

Ansley Fitzgerald Forest lives in Asheville where she enjoys 'life in the mountains." She has a son, Kiley, age 3, and a daughter, Azalea, 4 months.
Melissa Epperly works in New York at Bain and Company, a management strategy consulting firm. She recently completed her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Corinne Epperly is a 4th year medical student at UNC-Chapel Hill and is including a Masters of Public Health in her program. Prior to medical school, she spent 3 years as a research fellow in Molecular Immunology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Camille King Hill married Kevin Hill in 2005 and welcomed Claire Ann Hill into the world on January 15, 2007. The family lives in Nashville, TN.1994
Catherine "Casey" Copenhaver works for Tishman Speyer in New York where she is Director of Marketing for the Americas (U.S., Brazil and Argentina).
Amy Koman Grady married in September. She lives and works in southern California.
Lee Fitzgerald Kennelly had a son, Kevin Thomas Kennelly III, in July. The Kennelly's live in Charlotte.
Elizabeth Broyhill will marry Rob Cohen on October 6, 2007 in Banner Elk, NC.
Brad Kaplan writes, "After a year of college, I married and enlisted in the Army (September 1998) and got out in November 2003. My wife's name is Whitney and she is from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I have two children, a daughter, Riley (8) and a son, Andrew (6). While in the Army we were stationed at Ft Jackson (South Carolina), Ft. Lewis (Washington state), and Wiesbaden Army Airfield (Germany). We now live in Gig Harbor, WA. I work for the family business, Kaplan Early Learning Company, which is based out of Lewisville, NC. I am the Educational Sales Consultant for Washington and Oregon."1995
Denise Gagnon completed her graduate degree at John Hopkins University this spring and became the Chief of Staff to the CEO & President of Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems. She lives in Washington, DC and will run her 6th marathon this November.

Drew Copenhaver is a first year law student at Charleston School of Law where he was elected Senator to the Student Bar Association.
Anna Wilson graduated from Duke in 2004 and spent a year skiing and working in Jackson Hole, WY. She now lives in San Francisco and works at Google.
Ann Hayley McDowell teaches 5th grade in Spartanburg, S.C. She has a Masters in Special Ed with a concentration in learning disabilities.
Will Jones married Honor McManus on September 30, 2006 at Tanglewood Park In Clemmons, NC. The couple lives in Breckenridge, CO.

Allison Croney graduated from Rhode Island School of Design where she focused on furniture design. She is currently traveling for seven months to research and experience sustainability through design and lifestyles. On her travels she visited Japan, Australia and India. Wesley Hsu coaches at Forsyth Country Day school. He and brother Hartley '98 are roommates.
Wells Thompson, who played midfielder on the Wake Forest University men’s soccer team, was selected fifth by the New England Revolution in the MLS draft held on January 17, 2007. Wells is the highest drafted player in the history of WFU soccer. Wells led his team in goals in 2006 and earned ACC All Tournament honors as a senior. He was also an All-Freshman selection in 2006.
George Memory lives in Winston-Salem where he is a Financial Advisor and Financial Planning Associate with Smith Barney.

Molly Mae Potter graduated in May 2007 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Engineering-Physics. She is an Air Force officer and works as a developmental engineer project manager in the 406th Armament Systems Wing at Eglin Air Force Base. Molly married June 30th to another Air Force Officer, who is currently an AC-130 EWO.2001

Josh Miller attends Western Carolina and is acitve in various organizations including: Honors College, Senator in SGA, Campus Outreach, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, President of Wrestling Club.
Chelsea Curran will be traveling to Sydney Australia to intern from September to December 2007 with the Waverley Council. She is earning internship credit towards her degree in Political Science: Town, City, County Management from Appalachian State University.2003
Sara Womble is a rising sophomore at Duke majoring in English, minoring in Music, with a concentration in vocal performance; she is on the Dean's List with Distinction.. She sings in the Duke Chorale, which recently went on tour to California. Sara takes voice lessons, and competed in the NC auditions for the National Association of Teachers of Singing and qualified for the NATS regional auditions at the University of Maryland.
