Summit School is a progressive, coeducational day school for Pre-Kindergarten through Ninth Grade, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our enrollment of almost six hundred students makes us one of the larger NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) schools of our kind in the nation. Founded in 1933, Summit’s challenging, research-based curriculum stresses development of each student’s potential. We are privileged to nurture young people in a caring environment designed to evoke maximum individual growth.

Sited on a beautiful wooded 28-acre campus that once was part of the R. J. Reynolds estate, we have ten instructional buildings surrounded by gardens and playing fields. Our Head of School, Dr. Sandra Adams, and Associate Head Dane Perry have residences on campus. Reynolda House Museum and grounds, Graylyn Conference Center, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, and Wake Forest University are our neighbors. Our state-of-the-art library, which opened in 1998, includes three computer labs, a screening room which seats 90, and a video production studio. The library collection exceeds 45,000 volumes. Each classroom is equipped with computers and high-speed internet access. We welcome visitors; please call Katherine Memory, Director of Admission, for an appointment. 336-724-5811
